IN A READING SLUMP? MY TOP FIVE BOOKS TO GET YOU OUT OF IT PRONTO
As I type this, I'm currently battling with the world worst reading slump and seeing as this is my first one , nothing prepared me for how depressing and achingly sad wanting to do the one thing you love most in the world but never being able to do, is .
But here are my top five books I swear by . These books brought me hope, took me out of my slump, reminded me why reading was my favorite hobby and suddenly my life wasn't as depressing anymore:
It Happened One Summer- Tessa Bailey
I Am Not Jessica Chen - Ann Liang
Better Than The Movies-Lynn Painter
Binding 13- Chloe Walsh
Terms And Condition- Lauren Asher
One of the reasons these books worked for me was because they were all fast paced and they all had romance which is a huge plus . Yes , you wanna go for a genre you like and enjoy, bonus points if they're short and straight to the point.
IT HAPPENED ONE SUMMER ; While I don't like to fit things into boxes, this book is hands down one of my favorite books of all time. The way Tessa Bailey expertly merges real life truths into a simple romance makes it the perfect fun book to escape reality without the shallowness of some romcoms I've experienced.
I AM NOT JESSICA CHEN; This book brought me out from the slump and as soon as I turned the first page, I felt rejuvenated . Something I recognized with this specific one is the theme. I related so deeply to both main characters and nothing spoke to me more than the central message. I have a book review on this particular book in this blog , you could check it out and see if it resonates with you.
BETTER THAN THE MOVIES ; This book is honestly one of those books you read in a single sitting , staying up till three am just to see how it ends. I was soo enamored by the authors writing style and the world she created. I had a sense a loss finishing the book.
TERMS AND CONDITION ; Nothing bangs more than a good billionaire romance , with a grumpy x sunshine troupe. It's my favorite thing to read in a book. This is the second and my favorite book in Lauren Asher's billionaire series. Humorous , fast paced and money talk. DEVOURED it.
